"Whisperings of Wisdom"

Whisperings of wisdom taught, so quietly to me.
The still small voice of deity, that nobody can see.

Reverent revelations, revealing to my mind.
A life now near forgotten, millenniums behind.

Divine guidance, I am seeking now, a purpose and a goal.
In a world filled with commotion that reaps havoc to the soul.

In kind and precious moments, I will trust my heart in prayer.
Blessed enlightened intellect, my being made aware.

Promptings of peace they come, and healing angels bring!
The sacred hymns of heaven, and inspired answers sing!

The Spirit now, it tutors me, of life, a Savior dear.
That I may travel lonely roads, in faith and without fear.

Grant me God, this sacred gift, a compass so divine!
Whispers that direct my path, with feelings so sublime!

POET'S COMMENTS

We live in a world of commotion, that has separated itself from God. Yet in this life of adversity and opposition, the core of the inner man naturally desires purpose, understanding, and peace. How are those desires to be fulfilled?

Although the world has separated itself from God, He has not separated Himself from His children. Within every man and woman exists the light of Christ. That light can burn brightly and lead one to God, or flicker dimly to lead nowhere. How we live our lives determines the light's ability to lead.

A prophet named Alma explained how finding truth works.

"Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things of myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me." (Alma 5:46)

Truth comes with preparation, fasting, and praying. It requires humility, a contrite spirit, a broken heart, a pure desire to know God. Then revelation can occur and the Holy Ghost confirms the truth, spirit to spirit. This is how God works. He speaks to the heart and spirit. The companionship of the Holy Ghost is a precious gift to be sought after. This gift can become a comforter, a protector, a teacher, a revealer, a messenger.

"For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived..." (D&C 45:57)

What is truly amazing is the Spirit's power to guide daily. With its influence, faith increases and fear flees. One's relationship with deity is magnified, and the veil between God and man begins to disappear. It is a wonderful thing as truth is revealed of things past, present, and future.

Those sweet promptings come very softly in quiet moments of prayer and contemplation. "Yea, thus saith the still small voice, which whispereth through and pierceth all things, and often times it maketh my bones to quake while it maketh manifest..." (D&C 85:6)

This divine compass is a gift worth more than all the treasures of the earth. It illuminates the path to eternal life and glory in the presence of a perfect Father and Savior. The still small voice whispers the truth of all things. And truth is the source of all peace and blessings.
