"The War For Eternal Choices"

There once was a time, . . . in a life long ago.
A battle raged in heaven, a fight for every soul.

Thunder rumbled, and lightening struck, a banner hoisted high!
"Self rule! Liberty! Freedom!" For which many spirits died.

One third the host of heaven, perished that dreadful day.
Eternal kingdoms forever lost, the vengeful spirits paid.

Condemned dark souls, who fought against, and there fell in defeat.
Became forever bonded slaves, to serve at Satan's feet.

The war half won, but not complete, continues on this earth.
While mortals struggle day to day, seeking their self worth.

Cast out fallen angels, assemble in their wrath.
The devil vows destruction, if man should cross his path.

Valiant spirits are tested, to choose the right or wrong.
The Holy Father who loves them, or the wicked serpent strong.

The bondage of the victors, seeks the dragon in his hate.
With lust, lies, and passions, that will quickly bind their fate.

But God's ways are different, for He prompts with a soft voice,
Encouraging every man to act, and make a righteous choice.

And when man chooses freedom, and to serve his God with love.
His destiny is sealed, with a mansion up above!

POET'S COMMENTS

There are really only two choices in life, good or evil; Our Heavenly Father, or the Father of Lies.

The battle for man's soul is just as intense as it was in the preexistence. Satan, the Master of Deception, with millenniums of experience, is still waging war against those who sided with the Great Jehovah. There is no lie he will not tell, nor illusion he will not use to lead men astray. His goal is man's eternal servitude. He wants to rule over every living soul. He has captured one third of heaven. (Rev. 12:4)

The conflict between good and evil still exists. It is stated eloquently in The Book of Revelations.

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,. . .And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven...And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Revelations 12:7-9)

The eternal fight "to be ruled over", or "to rule oneself" still moves forward in this life. Those who live on earth were victorious in their first estate. Because of their valiance they were rewarded with a body, and the freedom to choose their eternal destiny.

It is not easy to always choose the right. There are many dark forces seeking to take away our freedom to choose correctly. Freedom is a gift that will lead to eternal sorrow, or eternal happiness. Every man has been allowed liberty to direct his own life. Where life leads him, is up to him.

Perhaps the largest barrier to man conquering Satan is discovering his own self worth. With a knowledge and understanding of this earth experience, one can better make decisions that will bless his and other's lives. It is the gospel of Jesus Christ that helps man know who he is, and how to discern between good and evil. The choice is the same, but made much clearer.

"Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God; and that which is evil cometh of the devil; for the devil is an enemy unto God, and fighteth against him continually, and inviteth and enticeth to sin, and to do that which is evil continually. But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God. Wherefore, take heed, my beloved brethren, that ye do not judge that which is evil to be of God, or that which is good and of God to be of the devil." (Moroni 7:12-14)

God does direct those who humble themselves, and listen to His promptings. Even when a map has been given (gospel teachings), it is still faith that leads to safety.

Faith that follows divine promptings, is an unwritten map to eternal happiness.
