"Father Is Waiting"

Tear drops of rain have settled, into a peaceful dew.
Reflections of an honored father, pure and true.

Love's light, dancing in his eyes.
Curled lips masking, the chuckle inside.

Words that lifted, and healed, and pleased.
Troubled souls, now appeased.

Warmth and comfort, encircles today,
Those most loved, whose time was to stay.

Quietly and humbly, he showed the way.
To an eternal home, not far away.

Faith far reaching, touching the clouds!
Service undaunted, bestowed to the crown!

Anointed, exalted, and clothed in white.
Resurrection's glory, will be his delight!

One last treasure, a promise to keep!
An eternal family, forever at his feet!

IN MEMORY OF J. LYMAN STEWART OUR LOVING FATHER AND FRIEND.

POET'S COMMENTS

Just as birth is a part of life, so is death. Is death the end?

Every person who lives, will one day lose a loved one. After the tears of morning pass, they and relatives will recall sweet memories of the deceased. This will soften their absence. Reflections of the past will offer visions of the happiest memories shared together. Sons and daughters will recount all of those wonderful lessons, where love was felt so strongly. Their deceased will then be celebrated, and the hopes of one day being reunited will be kindled.

Those who understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, know that life does not end on earth. It continues, and those spirits whose probationary period has ended, are transported to the spirit world where they continue to progress, and wait for the Second Coming and resurrection.

"And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow." (Alma 40:12)

"All these had departed the mortal life, firm in the hope of a glorious resurrection, through the grace of God the Father and his Only Begotten, Jesus Christ. I beheld that they were filled with joy and gladness, and were rejoicing together because the day of their deliverance was at hand." (D&C 138: 14-15).

In the spirit world they will be happy. They will have a fuller understanding of this life, and the eternal Plan of Happiness. For those who led a righteous life, the spirit world will be a wonderful place confirming that Jesus is the Christ, that a resurrection will occur, and that they will be reunited with their families because they chose to follow the Savior.

Jay Stewart was an example of a man who gave his life to Christ. He lived an honored life. He showed his children the way to the "light and life" of the world. And now he waits with his beloved wife to receive his children, and be sealed for time and eternity as a family. That is the great promise of the resurrection, a fullness of glory with our loved ones.

There is no greater gift that a father can give to his children than to love as the Savior loved, and live as the Savior lived. J. Lyman Stewart became such a man while on this earth. His memory will be forever be cherished.
